The plan

Posted by: FeR on: December 27, 2008

Since I have nothing much to do…I should consider “spring cleaning” this site.

New layout?
Tempting…but ermm…no ilham yet.

I intend to purge everything and keep only a few memorable posts from yesteryears – birthdays, celebrations, weddings.

It’s new year soon (so fast kan?) and new resolutions!
*cough cough*

In the mean time, I’m looking for a cheap cheap car (can’t even get a short term of 6 months) and planning my finances for next year (the critical parts are setting aside funds for the road trip with Hazel and trip back to Malaysia – especially when it’s going to be unpaid leave for my 2 weeks back to Malaysia).
I did think of cutting my trip short but what can I do in one week?!! I need more time! Even with 2 weeks, I’m itching to push it to 3 weeks!

*sigh*

My first Kiwi Christmas

Posted by: FeR on: December 25, 2008

Blessed Christmas
Blessed Christmas to everyone!
[I don't know if anyone does this but the first thing that came into mind this morning was, "Happy Birthday, Jesus!"]

First sole charge
My heart was pounding when I went to bed last time…I guess I was subconsciously worried about my first sole charge shift.

New slate?

Posted by: FeR on: December 24, 2008

Hello again.
It’s come to that point of time where I wonder if I should start with a clean state once again – so I could have my categories nicely sorted (OCD side talking here) and maybe have a certain “theme” to my blog.

Bleh.

I’m currently using 80% of my disk space and some of the older entries I’ve typed out using HTML are still sitting somewhere on my website – taking up space but not being much of a use to anyone (those are the entries with lots of pictures as well and because it was in HTML, it didn’t get imported when I started using WP).

So?

Should I just keep some of my entries and photos online and start new?
Or should I upgrade my disk space?

I need to organise stuff (I have this innate desire to have everything ORGANISED but if you know me well enough, I’m also very flustered and disorganised!) and I want a new layout as well! Where to find time???

It took me quite a while to remember my password because I’ve been relying on Cyberduck to upload photos (before macFeR, I do it manually using cPanel!) and it was frustrating!

Then I remembered I changed my password so I could let Keat help me with WP when I first did the migration.
:pfft:

And when I saw that I sent an email to myself (how did I do that?! That’s actually freaky how they use your email to remind yourself about something) about my disk quota, I thought it was spam!

Bleh!

How now brown cow?

By the way, I have trouble loading Gmail.
(Googled online and apparently there are some reports on Gmail+Firefox not too happy with each other…and now I’ve to check mail using RealPlayer. :pfft: )
Why?
What’s with me and technology glitches these few days??

Gone!

Posted by: FeR on: December 23, 2008

Gone!
Gone!

From about 12 days of leave to none!

Have to start from scratch again but looking at things, my trip back to Malaysia would be unpaid leave. :(

Well, I know lah with this they don’t need to pay me the higher rate for what I earned as an intern…but sampai never even give warning till they’ve already DONE it.

Entahlah…

Posted by: FeR on: December 21, 2008

I’ve been online trying to work out what’s going on with Safari.

I’ve tried everything listed on support/forum sites that I’ve combed through in my last few hours online (oh so pedih my mata!)

I guess I’ll just have to leave it till later to see what’s wrong.
I don’t know where to go to here to get macFeR checked (nearest authorised service provider would probably be in Palmerston, about 2 hours away)…I guess I’ll wait and see what happens.

One last thing to try, though…logging in as a different user and see if that’ll make a difference.

What’s wrong with you?

Posted by: FeR on: December 21, 2008

Safari won’t load.
For those who (surprisingly) knows, I never had a second browser on my computers – even with FeRbie.

It’s not a blank page – the blank page won’t even appear! It’s just that “spinning beach ball of death” and its lonesome self on my screen.
The light beneath the icon on the dock is not lit, the menu bar doesn’t even get to show “Safari” on it…

AGHH!!!

So how did I get online?

RealPlayer.
I remember back in Uni when I was watching TVB series…I found out that I could use RealPlayer as an internet browser.
:pfft:

So “yay” to times spent in front of computer watching TVB series.

I’m glad I’ve got RealPlayer on here before Safari did this to me. And it’s JUST today. It was perfectly fine yesterday.

How?

Updated 451pm

I LOVE Carmen. She’s such a genius!
:hee:

I used her computer to download Firefox (I couldn’t choose to download other OS version with Safari but thankfully Firefox allowed me to download the Mac version!) and tadaaaa! I’ve got a browser now.
Removed Safari and downloaded it again from Apple but it’s STILL not working. It’s ironic to have Firefox as my default browser now.

Pfft!
So much for thinking that I could depend on Safari 24/7.
*shakes fists*

First day

Posted by: FeR on: December 17, 2008

The experience all over again but this time it’s better because I not so ulu kia anymore…I think.
:sidelook:

Carmen dropped me off near work (thank goodness because I’d probably be all sweaty and huffy when I get to work because I only gave myself 20 minutes to walk there) and Julie was the first to greet me with a big, “Hello! Come on in!!”

The place there?
One eye see all.

After an hour or so, I miss PD already. :P

I’m glad I did my internship at PD (maybe that’s why no internship at Hastings?) because there’s just so much more to learn. In PD, the culture I was taught is that there is always something to do. It’s weird hanging about with not much to do.

I actually miss the busyness! I mean, we complain about being short-staffed and having CRAZY packed times but you know what? I miss all that when I was at Hastings today.

Or maybe it’s just being all new and everything not being like how I’m used to.
Everything also kompren.

No ‘dones, no NE, no filing, no sorting, no nearby dots, opposite dispensing flow, different sigs/missing sigs, missing paper bags outreach, scripts’ tray not within arm’s reach, different screen+keyboard height (eh! Makes a difference, okay)…I can’t stamp scripts with my right hand!!

PD keeps my mind ticking and my feet moving.

Oh, another thing that sort of puts me off is the roster…the current one for February looks as if I’m doing all evening shifts except for a day or two in the week. That’s definitely something I am not keen on. I don’t think that defines “rotation”. It’s uncertain yet but when the time comes, I will definitely ask Keryn about it – I don’t want to be “bullied” into working late shifts just because I’m a n00b.

New intern

Posted by: FeR on: December 16, 2008

Samantha was at the red door while I was getting in yesterday and I offered to show her upstairs (Bunty was talking to her when I arrived and they look like they were heading upstairs).

Not the whole grand tour lah, didn’t want to overwhelm the poor girl although I am excited to show/tell everything that is to know about work.

First day of work already kena do compounding – and of all things it was MagOH liquid. And she was wearing black top summore…can see small splatters of white after she’s done. And we forgot to tell her about her breaks.
Poor girl only had her morning tea break at 1155am!!! I meant to tell her when I got back from mine (1110am) but I forgot! We’re so used to looking out for our own break time.
:hee:

Today we’re going to be working the evening shift together (one extra person for a Tuesday! Anton would be happy!) and I asked her to have lunch since our odd lunch time would be at 3pm. That would give us some time to sit down and chat.

Like myself, she was glad to have a Malaysian colleague. *hehe*
When she was being interviewed, she told me that she was informed that the (then) current intern is from Malaysia – and she wondered if thereafter I would stay on. Apparently she was also offered the 2 years (intern+pharmacist) contract.
